Setae Lucensis - Decorative finishes

Setae Lucensis is the fourth inspiration line of the ‘Made in Tuscany’ collection. A selection of four decorations with dedicated designs – Cangiante (Iridescent), Tramato (Woven), Decorato (Ornate), and Opera d’Autore (Signature Piece) – crafted to reinterpret, on the creative canvas of the wall, the historical connection between the Lucca area and the ancient craft of silk production.

They are refined and highly evocative finishes, capable of drawing an intriguing parallel between weaving and wall decoration: two worlds united by constructive know-how, where creativity, precision, technique, aesthetics, memory, and innovation intertwine.

The ancient expertise of Lucca’s weavers, who in the Middle Ages – using wooden looms – told stories through textile creations admired across Europe, is now reinterpreted by the know-how of contemporary master decorators, who, with their hands, use walls as a creative surface to bring narrative textures to life for international designers, planners, and architects, always in search of fresh, stimulating solutions to enhance the aesthetics of their spaces.

CANGIANTE

Smooth, cool surfaces like silk, suspended between light and matter This decorative effect evokes the soft, light drape of a cool silk veil, distinguished by its linear yet sophisticated aesthetic, where the satin surface, soft to the touch, stages a dynamic interplay of shifting reflections.

TRAMATO

The charm of raw silk filaments on the wall Not the refined, smooth silk, but the raw, authentic, and imperfect side of its precious filaments. This decorative effect draws inspiration from ancient handwoven textiles, born as perfect union of warmth and character, essence and appearance.

DECORATO

The timeless modernity of a unique and precious decoration Sumptuous, surprising, and uniquely evocative of the richness of Lucca’s ancient brocades, where refined relief work transforms fabric into a true work of art.

OPERA D’AUTORE

A new creative vision inspired by painted silk It is reminiscent of a hand-painted silk drape, a theatrical backdrop, a fashion-inspired screen, a tapestry, a coat of arms, a dress, a V of Viero poised between past and future, designed to tell a story and embody a bold new vision in the world of comprehensive decoration, transcending the wall to enter the three-dimensionality of the space.
